Hi iv'e got a 1998 pathfinder with the 3.3 l engine. for half a year now i have been getting random no start/stalling issues about once a week. the engine will crank and crank but will not fire. The first time it happened i sprayed intake cleaner in intake while cranking and it fired so i replaced the fuel pump (couldn't hear pump at the time, now learned that these pumps are decievingly quiet). The problem seemed like it was gone for a while but it is now worse than ever and is now stalling randomly sometimes while idling, sometimes while driving. for the longest time i thought my fuel pump was cutting
out but even when the no start issue is present i have fuel pressure at fuel rail. It has never set an ses light and no dtc's are present in the pcm. Any one that has experienced a similar problem your help would be greatly appreciated as i am now extremely frustrated and feel like pushing this truck off a cliff.

What's your measured fuel pressure? Fuel filter ever been replaced? If not, you should probably replace it. There's a nice how-to here. Try cleaning your MAF sensor, as well. Spark plugs ever replaced? Battery condition? What's your mileage?

I am having a very similar problem and seem to be at a dead end with my mechanic. I replaced the Mass flow sensor, crankshaft sensor and distributor. My mechanic said that I had spark and fuel pressure at a time when it would not start, they are at a loss...NISMO686 did you solve this problem or does anyone have any ideas?....help or I will have to be a the mercy of the dum dum dum--dealer service center!!

My dealer determined it was a bad EGI relay. It appears to be running fine now but we will see over the next few days for sure... If you having similar symptoms, try replacing this 35 dollar part and save yourself the 200 in dealer costs.
