95 Q45 (260,000 miles). I am posting for my brother who is a mechanic by trade but has little experience with infinities. The car randomly stalls and it takes cranking the car for long periods of time to make it start. He has replaced the cam sensor and fuel pump. Checking the car, it has no power at the coils when in a no start situation. We have disarmed the security system by grounding the green/black wire under the left boot cover with no success.

After replacing the cam sensor, the car went on a 500 mile trim problem free. It may go 3 weeks or have problems several times a day. Totally unpredictable.

Help!

It sounds like MAF sensor issues, which seem to be fairly common with these cars. I had similar issues on my '94, I cleaned it out and it made the problem pretty much go away.

Give this a read, these instructions are what I went by:

If the 12+ to coils actually disappears you must trace back from coil common point thru inside - outside fuses to ignition switch/relays.........using some visual milestones/clues...............the schematic is your friend.

Just like injectors, coils always see +12 volts when in cranking or run key position.

Replace fuses and relays as an easy simplification except that does correct the possibilty of sockets or wires feeding sockets.
