My Mazda makes that noise all the time. I don't think it's a serious problem. I guess it's time for some lube.Scott Buwalda wrote:Brake relay to shift from park, more than likely.

Thanks for the input guys. What specifically is it that requires the lube though? again, I'm not positive what I'm dealing with or if I should even worry about it.94_240sx wrote: I guess it's time for some lube.
Oh! Maybe different then. I can shift from P to D only when brake pedal is pressed and there's a locking mechanism on my Mazda.cmkelly wrote:If it's a relay then it's electrical and thus no lube required I'd imagine. It's basically the electric sound of you applying the brakes.
and shame on you for not driving your vert for a year!!!
lol, it's because theres no point in having the car registered while I go to school in Boston year round/full time. But I keep continuous projects going on it at home, I just don't leave my 700ft driveway with it. It should be back on the road after fresh paint in April though!cmkelly wrote:and shame on you for not driving your vert for a year!!!
The more I think about it, the more this sounds like the issue. The noise is coming directly from that area (shifter) of the car. But it happens the instant the lights turn on....interesting...94_240sx wrote:

Far too mechanical sounding to be something like that, but thanks for the suggestion.nissanconvert wrote:could be a spark from a short?
