Random CEL

I'm having íssues with a random CEL, I'ts a 95 manual shift.I get the CEL and pull the codes, 34 Knock Sensor and 82 Crank Position Sensor. Then I clear the codes and drive the car. No CEL. Turn car off, then restart, I get the CEL. Pull the codes, 34, 82. Then I clear the codes and start the car. No CEL. Turn car off, then restart, I get the CEL again.Same codes, every other time I clear or start. I'ts getting old and I need to smog my car soon.I tried to search, but can't find anything under Random CEL.

lol codes just don't go away you have to fix them first try replacing your knock sensor and crank positioning sensor they might turn off

They do turn off and stay off (26 miles to work) untill I shut the car off. I start the to go home and the CEL comes on. So I check the codes and clear them. Then drive back home(26 miles) with no CEL. How can I fix something that dosen't consistantly repeat? I know I could replace everything and cross my fingers and hope it works, but I thought the people on this list might have some insight to why the errors are so random.

thats not random, yoru clearing your codes, that means your wiping the memory. and by the time you get back to work turn your car off then back on your computer sees the problem again. replace the two items that are showing up and they will stay off
