I ran my car at the drag strip in Jackson, SC this past weekend and pulled a 13.077 at 108.17 mph. This was done with 17 psi on 93 octane. My 60ft was a 2.044. I dynoed 310 rwhp and 316 ft/lbs of torque a week earlier. If anyone is interested in seeing the video, i posted the zip file on my homepage in either quicktime or divx formats.

is that cluck cluck sorta sound tires spinning, the bov, or compressor surge? you can hear it the best in the very last part of the vid when the camerman is outside of the car... nice vid, but the car just doesnt sound right to me...

Running 7000RPM out of a KA under pressure is pretty impressive. What kind of exhaust temps are you generating at 17psi?

that sound was tires spinning and hitting the rev limiter by accident in 1st gear.

viscous lsd and MT ET drags at 14 psi. I ran it 4 times. 1st one was 13.1, 2nd one was a 16.7 cuz I let off halfway through the track cuz I was spinning the slicks because of too high of tire pressure, the 3rd was a 13.0 and the 4th was a 13.2. I could have definitely hit the 12s if I had a lil more practice and a better 60 ft. I got 4 runs in and it took 6 hrs to get those 4 runs in. The line was horrible and people were always breaking down. When I usually go, I get like 8 or 9 runs in. But this was the first time with my turbo ka at the track.

Somewhere under 1600 degrees F. Right under.

Eh it sorta sounds like it's in 2nd gear, I can hear you shift and then you get that cluck cluck sound at like 2:12 in the vid..

ahh maybe its the BOV I donno... just sounds weird

tires spin in 1st and 2nd from a roll and fast shifting from 1st to 2nd. It will do it in 3rd gear from a roll if its cold enough. I have about 20-30% life left on my tires though.

my autometer egt kit came with the boss. All I did was drilled it where I wanted(the size of drill was listed in the instructions-basically a little smaller than the outside diameter of the boss) and took the manifold to an exhaust shop and had it welded on

my EGT's seem right on with what alot of other turbo ka owners have at full boost in like 4th gear(17 psi) with Jim Wolf timing maps.Does it seem too high to you?

What I've been told is that pistons start melting right around 1600F on the EGT gauge. That measurement might be a bit different for you, depending on where you have your probe mounted. Mine is after the turbo, in the elbow before the downpipe. If yours is mounted closer to the head, you'll get higher readings.

The highest I've ever seen my EGT get was in the 1450-1500 range.

the next time I drive my car, I'll check my EGT's for ya at 17 psi in a higher gear.

phax- in the other post i didnt realize ur egt was after the turbo. that seems extremely high to me. mine is an inch away from the head in cylinder #4 and got up to 1450-1500 when i was at 125+mph and 8psi thats the hottest they get. klattr1 ur cars looks great. btw did u have any camber issues with the sportlines? im going to be puttin mine back in soon. and hows traction with them? any wheel hop?

Do you think that having the exhaust manifold, elbow and downpipe ceramic coated would cause higher exhaust temps to be registered?

i do have camber issues with the sportlines(negative camber). But I just bought OBX camber correction eccentric bolts to help adjust it. I bought them off of Ebay. I will install them soon.As far as traction goes, if you are looking for straight line peformance, correct the camber but if you are all about handling and dont mind wearing tires, leave the negative camber.I do have wheel hop but I plan to get subframe spacers to alleviate it.

All I am saying is that the exhaust temps are not above 1600 degrees. Its somewhere between 1400 and 1600 degrees F. I'll check it soon. But the higher exh. temps are due to Jim Wolf's retarded timing. My air fuel ratios are now finally solid.

Call me crazy but at 300+whp I just figured you would run faster than a 13 flat.....cause I am hoping for a 13 flat with only 270-280whp.

Good times though man!

call me crazy but nobody's a perfect driver. Especially for the first time at the track with the turbo ka!It all depends on traction man. With a really good 60 ft(like lower than 2 sec) and about 260 at the wheels with drag radials or slicks, you can get in the 12s.

hahaha i love sarcasim sometimes. but yea its alot different with turbo. theres so much pwoer u have to be careful not to floor it off the line and even in second gear depending on ur tires. takes some time to find ur limits
