1.918 60ft. time with rear wheel drive??? Sounds like a damn good launch to me...I know people with WRX's and DSM's that would kill for a launch like that.

I haven't seen any wrx at the strip, but my friend's 1st gen GSX does constant 1.6xx 60' times constant with 225s all around. Unfortunately he downgraded to 205s all around for now so he's gonna have traction issues now.

Crap, that 60' is killer.

You can probably run a 13.9xx in the 1/4.

My 2.389 60's just kill my ET's.

Nice run! :ylsuper A 1.9xx 60' time is very respectable especially considering the tires (or lack of tires) you were running. Good job!~Brendan

Buud man i bet you can do better than that, unless you have some horrificly crappy tires. i've only been to the track once with my completely stock 95 w/new falken ziex's and i managed a 2.372

not tryin to rag or say you suck or anything, just thinkin you could get better out of her:ylsuper

launch at 7K? are you nuts? you'd sit there spinning tires all day unless you had the stickiest of stickey tires, and AWD. i got mine by launchin around 3500 i think

not realy just put a tad of slip into it, so you put the stress on the clutch

the 240/silvia drive train is pretty tough. I doubt that a slightly modifide SR could kill it. I have a firend with a v8 in a 300zx (last model with the hood scoop) and he has had zero problems even with slicks.

I took this from a s10 V8 site

"The stock 7-1/2" S-Truck rear-end will handle a lot of power and is sufficient for most V8 conversions, but if you are running a "built" V-8, or have tall or sticky tires, you will need the 7-5/8" rear end, or a custom built rear-end. Incidentally, the V-8 Camaro use the same basic differential case as the S-Truck, as do 1978-1987 V-8 El Caminos and Monte Carlos. In fact, the V-8 El Caminos and Monte Carlos only came equipped with the 7-1/2" ring gears and the smaller axles."

Our ring gear is 200mm or approx 8 inches... and the baddest rear end in the hot rod community the ford 9 inch is only 1 inch bigger

"Greaser" from another forum has pulled 1.4's on an LSD, slicks, stock shocks and some no name springs with some "secret suspension mods" in an SR powered s13! And hit a 10 sec. 1/4 with that sweet launch! I launch my KAT at 6.5 - 7K with no problems and only minimal wheel spin with an open diff and 15x8x22" slicks (but I've got a rather large turbo that doesn't spool quick enough if I launch at lower RPMs). I got a 1.9 sec. 60', 8.7 sec. 1/8th mile and 13.5 sec. 1/4 mile at 99.22 mph.

I hate it how they have 1/8th mile track instead of 1/4 mile. I don't see the point of opening up a 1/8 mile track. Anyways, launching at 7K RPM is not only you are gay and a noob, but also giving so much stress into your car.

heh... slicks require a totally different attitude than street tires. and it doens't put any damaging stress on the drivetrain components... they are very beefy in the 240. So put your water gun away buddy. If he is getting 1.9's on slicks launching at 7 i don't think there is a lot to argue about.

also wasting first gear, since your launching past the power in 1st gear....ive run 13.1's w/ 2.1 60fts....SR's usually get best results launching at 4500-5000rpm

I was launching at 5.5 krpms and my 60 was 2.3 puut puut but I made it thru the 1/4 at 12.7 103. My first run of the day was 15.3 and all my friend were there with there cars(mostly ****vics) and all of my friends weren't very impressed until my next run of 14.4 i believe and then the 3rd of 12.7. After that they knew what I had been talkin about all along about my car kickin *** and woopin up on the streets. They def believed me after that day. I was having wastegate issues as for the first 2 times I ran that day. The two bolts came out that hold the waste gate unit on and I was runnin stock boost. So in between the 3rd and 4th race I fixed it and started tuning the afc and avcr on this back strip and two cops on a golf cart rode over yellin at me so I had to stop and then we got rained out. Haven't ran it at the track since. Blew my motor just to put another s*** motor in and now I have to pull my head. Its a never ending story. Fix the head and upgrade a little and I'll be back in the 11s

the reason they build 1/8 mile tracks instead of 1/4 is insurance. It costs a lot more to open a 1/4 mile track because the trap speeds are so much higher than the 1/8.

The 1/8 mile is great for practicing your launch and nailing that 60' time. They are typically less crowded then a 1/4 mile track so you get many more runs in (more practice).~Brendan

M/T 15" drag slicks, very cool. Alot of the altima guys use those. They are a great tire.
