My swap was supposed to be completed today, but something naturally went wrong. I finished everything off in the engine bay and drive train and I go to start it and it turns over but doesn't even try to start. It almost fired once or twice but didn't.

Here's the list of potential causes.

No gear oilVacuum lines not connectedTransmission connectors not connectedI don't know if theres spark or not

It's a 91 KA-DE by the way.

what kind of swap? you're referring to a swap but pointing out it's got a 91 ka24de and your profile shows a 91, so what kind of swap we talking about etc.

1. Why do you have no gear oil? 2. do you have uncapped vacuum lines? If so why didn't you reconnect them to the parts they were supposed to go to? There are important things that run off the vac signal like your fpr...3. The lower harness connects the alternator, starter, and also gives the signal to charge the battery. Do you have a particular reason why you didn't hook up the lower harness?4. Put the spark plugs on the valve cover, try starting the car, if you see the plugs produce an arc of electricity, you've got spark which could suggest a fuel problem.

Details on your situation.

did you bypass the park sensor? if the car still thinks its in drive it wont even crank. Theres alittle bit of wiring that you have to do. Make sure you still have your spark plug wires conected.

hahaha sorry I would never lay a finger on an automatic. My unplugged connectors are those responsible for reverse lights, speedometer sensor, etc. that I have no use for because I disconnected my reverse lights and I hate having a speedometer.

The problem turned out to be my car being mistimed from when I put my distributor on my new block. I retimed it today, it's still a little bit out of whack but I finally heard it run today for the first time in 2 weeks. I started it and have been running it all day with just headers :-D

However, there's a new problem that has arisen, I took out my dipstick and the oil was milky white, I unscrewed my oil cap and there was also a milky white residue on the inside of it. So now apparently I have a coolant leak from either my head gasket or my water jacket is cracked. Oh well, a few more days until it's drivable...
