1994 J 30, I had been driving it for a few days it ran perfectly. I opened the door without the key, the alarm went off (factory) I ran in the house to get the key came out locked and unlocked the door, alarm stopped. I started it up to leave right after this happened put it in drive it sputters then dies and has not started since. I have done these suggested remedies: pushed accelerator down to floor for two seconds, held throttle 3/4 during starting locked and unlocked every lock on the car disconnected the battery over night, uplugged the ECU. It has spark, sprayed starting fluid directly into throttle bodies during cranking nothing. I am going to check the OBD 1 protocol has anyone else gone through this? It stands to reason that with spark and starting fluid it should start. The factory alarm might be the problem but again with spark and fuel it shouldnt matter, Please anyone HELP! Jim

Thanks willie, I actually sprayed the starting fluid into the intake butterflies on both sides of the engine its just a fogging mist so with spark it should have started the plugs are not wet already checked that the engine if left overnight will start to run with only one revolution then it just cranks and cranks keep in mind that it ran perfectly untill the alrm went off but I dont think it has any thing to do with anything unless the alarm controls the ECU hence crank position sensor which controls the spark firing at the correct time or other neccessary sensor...
