i vote kingston. I use it in every computer i have and have never had a problem. My insane gaming rig uses kingston ddr2 800mhz stuff, i ran memtest, prime95, and some other stress test apps on this machine when i first built it. No errors anywhere after 40+ continuous hours of testing.that and price wise, it's often cheaper.

I personally think that they're both good companies. I have had both before in my desktops and I have never had an issue with them. From what I know, they have pretty good reputations. You should check out http://www.newegg.com and look at the customer reviews for the many memory cards there.

So, Corsair or Kingston. Kingston gets good reviews no matter who I ask, so, if not Corsair, that's my choice.

MY comp comes with Samsung. My little band-aid is to swipe the 256 MB card off of my dad's old comp and add that.384 MB of Ram sped up my comp SO much....WOW. Can't wait to get a GB in here.

I remember Corsair was HUGE back in my counter strike days. I'm using Crucial ballistix right now and they're fine. Ran orthos for about 8+ hours. Nothing compared to krazydriver's 40+ hours though.

patriot/corsair/kingston/crucial is the order when i shop for ram. but really in the end ram is ram. there is no one better then the other. never had problems with any ram from anyone.(the ones i have used) plus %99.9 of them come with a lifetime replacement warranty so nothing really to worry about. just get the cheapest one with the performance u are looking for.

Agreed, but it also depends on the application. If you're going to OC the computer, look into OCZ. Latency AKA timing is an important factor also.

This is true if you have a run of the mill store bought PC. But if you build your own computer and do ANY overclocking certain brands are better then others and more stable. Also, some brands allow for a higher FSB overclock while remaining stable.

All these stupid expensive models that each of the brands has are not just gimmicks. They're usually guaranteed to meet a certain speed without failing.

The key phrase is, "when overclocking". Almost any XYZ brand will work fine for a stock clocked system, it's when you go to overclock that the expensive brands shine.

I'll let you know how my XMS2 800mhz memory does

G.Skill is a very good brand! I've got 2 Gigs right now, gonna get another two. My system is overclocked and the ram is stable as hell!

What really throws a wrench into this arguement is that you can find individual sticks from any manufacturer that can handle overclocking no problem.
