I want to raise the coilover like an inch.My question is... how much portion of the coilover cylinder should stay within the macpherson bracket or strut bracket at the bottom? I know if I pull out too much of the cylinder body, the bracket will be damaged.

I have Megan coilover.

I am an Euro-American, so if that says something like "I am going to the store to buy some donkey testicles" then I accept no responsibility.

I think he means what the minimum amout the shock body has to be threaded into the braket that bolts to the steering knuckle...I think he wants to know the maxamum ride hight he can safely set them to.

Nismo Freak,Get lost! With that racial remark of yours. I don't know how you figured I was Asian who I am (possibly hacking into my computer?) and which that sentence written in foreign alphabet is (my Korean friend read it for me). No one should call you a forum moderator with that kind of behavior. How could a guy like this roam on this forum with that moderator title. Huh?

Red Coupe,Thanks, that's what I meant. I didn't know the terminology ppl normally uses in a situation like this so I referred to that diagram Megan supplied with the coilover and used "official terminology".

Wow calm down there chief.

Your email address linked me to a Korean website. I was bored and punched up a reply in Altavista which gives some pretty funny translations and I posted up what it spit out.

What I typed into the translator was: Use your best judgement.

nothing racist just a joke obviously taken the wrong way...this was a question I kinda had as well. My though are as far as nuts and bolts go Ive always been told that the nut needs to be threaded on at least half the diamiter of the bolt...so Id assume it would be some what the same with the coioloers...So if its like a 2 inch shock body then thead it in at least an inch
