I'm sorry if this has been discussed and I couldn't find it, but this is just crazy. I fought the SRS/airbag light flashing issue for months on my 2004 350Z Roadster, for a while I was able to 'reset' it with the key on/key off methods (several different variations) but that quit working so I bought a new high quality OBD scanner that identified the fault and was able to reset it. I thought that was the end of it until today when I lowered the rag top on a rare beautiful January day...nothing happened until I raised the top back UP...and the SRS light went back to showing a fault...flashing. My OBD gadget is at a different place right now but I thought I would ask if anybody can suggest a reason why cycling the convertible top would affect the airbag system?????? Thanks
:wtf2:

Hello Jerry, I'll try to get that info, sorry I should have done it before didn't think of it. I think I might wait until it warms up a little, it went from 65 degrees yesterday afternoon to 13 right now! eek

thanks for the reply!

it could just be so many things going on so many systems are interconnected.

That's something I didn't think of but now I'm recalling something that I did not think could be related...when the top is down/open, the small amber "top" light under the tach does not go out. I've always assumed that some switch under the cover wasn't being actuated...the top is new and still is a little bit stiff, the cover doesn't seem like it ratchets all the way down, I never got around to looking into it because it didn't seem like a big issue...now I wonder if that might be throwing a code that the car's computer thinks has to do with the airbags. I guess I'll see if I can find a limit switch in that system (it's something I should fix anyway)...meanwhile I can reset the SRS light with my OBD scanner! Thanks!
