i have been doing alot of research for raising compression and lowering it to see how it affects overall power and spool up.

seems like they are saying that lower compression is better because of less nock and normal octane fuel.raised compression doesnt even really help spool up. unless you drastically raised compression.

but stock compression on a sr is 8.5 to 1 i am thinking about raising it to 9 to 1. witha .5 over bore.

i figured out using my excell sheet that at 8.5 pistons witha .5 over bore and thicker head gasket overall cpr will be 8.3 to 1. seems weird that i cant find 8 to 1 pistons for the sr.

does any one know if i can do a 1mm over bore with out having to resleeve the block?

I remember reading in one of dsport mag that higher compression helps the engine work easier ( making more useable torque) when it's off boost compared to lower compression.
