Sounds like the drain troughs that are under your rear window are clogged.

Look down in the side areas of where the top goes down in and see if you see any build up of gunk and grime. Water should be draining down and out of that area.

Another possibility is that your rear window itself could be leaking.

I think you dont close your top....My rear window leak when I go at the car wash... Check the rubber and your back glass. Oh and also check the sewing of the top.

You could try having a friend with a hose ,spray water lightly around the area where you suspect the trouble is,while you hang out in the rear seat area and try to determine where the water is comming in.I would still check those drain holes as stated above.

I had the same issue (yes the top was up, LOL). Used the hose to figure out that my back window is leaking on the bottom sides under the top.

Stop taking your car to the car wash. You are doing damage to your top.

My vert doesn't leak when it rains unless it's coming down hard. Water sometimes comes through the front and quarter windows and gets onto the door panels. I need to replace the black stripping...forgot what it's called. However I used to notice that a small puddle would accumulate in the pouch by the rear window when I washed her. For all I know, the drain troughs that Hijacker mentioned about could have been my problem but my window cracked up one day and I just replaced it. It stopped afterwards. I would check the area near/around your window...look closely at the stitching. Also, do you have a hole or tear in your top? Pretty weird that the water got all the way down to the carpet.

hahaI dont want a mud truck! My top is dead. Dont see anything because the window is brown and have some duck tape on the window. hahaSo I run top less to be more pimp. This summer I will buy a new top. But for now its snowing and the outside temperature is -25 C. So the car sleep. And its cold!

Here's what I do:

1.) don't drive the vert in the rain2.) always hand wash the vert

Seals around the top on mine are bad and I think I need to replace the rollers on the rear windows as it doesn't look like they seat right... I was forced to drive it in the rain once... huge mess.

I hate it for you. Mine only leaks a little if I use the power washer at the car wash - which I don't usually do. Never has leaked even in pouring rain. Check all seals and places where the water is supposed to channel. Use the buddy method of getting a friend with a hose and find that spot.

Good luck.

Rear windows would be leaking. Or you have a hole in your top and that is leaking.
