Hi all, I have a 06 G35x sedan, how come every time it rains my car goes into this weird hiccuping state where the motor lurches and the car behaves as if it had bad gasoline in the tank? A number of times the car has actually cut off and I've had to restart it. The service engine light has even come on a few times and then in a day or two (after the rain has stopped). After the rain stops the car performs normal again and the engine light goes out after a day or so. Has anyone else experienced this? and if so is there a way to correct the problem? I've gone to the dealership and they told me to put the undercarriage cover back on, I did this and the problem keeps happening.

Welcome to NICO!!!

I moved this to the G forum, hopefully you'll have some luck there. Honestly to me it sounds like a bad or corroded electrical connection somewhere. If the check engine light came on, you should be able to have the codes pulled and see what sensor was causing that. you could try cleaning that connection and seeing what that does.

You should be able to do that now, it will be stored in the computer's memory. Also, if you just want the codes scanned, places like Autozone, advance auto, NAPA, etc, will scan the codes for free and just tell you what they are.

The reason it keeps happening is water splashed into electrical connections and now there is corrosion.
The fiberboard shroud is there to prevent this.
Why did you remove it?
