first of all, this is my first post. Im sorry if i suck, but i need help. to broke for a professional. Im kinda new at this kind of stuff but i love my Z. i have a 96 300zx na and for some reason my headlight (only low beans), radio and other little lights go out. I dont know if its because i need new belts. Can the alternator not giving enough power. Or could it be relay, fuse, or a short some where. but they turn on when my car is still or idling. please help. or anything you guys can think of.

Aftermarket radio? If so it's likely wred wrong, it amazes me how often people, even shops ground to the illumination circuit.

If that's not the issue, the car starts fine? if you had low voltage you wouldn't be able to start so the issue is in the wiring, usually the ground.

Evildky is correct. Additionally, said wiring may have burned out the fuse. It's a 10amp fuse in the kick panel box.

yes after market radio. when i got the car i got a new radio. I think it had an after market radio. and they grounded it to the same wire. but how can i tell if they grounded it wrong? and the radio worked for more then a year. the car does start fine but the lights only go out when i start to drive. i checked all the fuses and they where all ok. i also have hids can that be a problem?

turns out a few weeks ago my battery went bad. but it was only a year old. so checked my alternator and found out it was overcharging my battery. so i switched it out and everything worked fine. took forever because of work. but got my lady feeling good again. =)
