My car sat for six months only being started every once in a while. One day, the car wouldn't start. I had to jump it and let the battery charge back up. Now the radio won't turn on. I checked the fuses. They're all good. Why won't my radio turn back on?

Does your interior light work? How about the clock? The radio has two power circuits, one for memory (constant 12v+) and one switched 12V+ lead. The radio fuse is for the switched lead and the memory lead is usually on the same circuit as the interior lighting, cig. lighter, and/or clock. Make sure you check them out as well.

Everything else inside works. All the lights, cigarette lighter, analog clock, instrument lighting. Everything else works.

Well, I looked in my owner's manual for any mention of a radio anti-theft feature or the code to unlock my radio. I can't find anything on this in my owner's manual. Any recommendations? I tried calling the dealer but the service department is closed today and I'm kinda tired of not having a radio to listen to. Plus I'm sure that they would want me to bring in my baby and have them do it, and then charge me for it. Please Help!!!

I looked in the FSM (Factory Service Manual) and didn't find any mention of a security code either. qship96, do you have any experience with OEM Nissan radios with a lock-out code? I haven't heard of it, but mine still has a tape deck - so what do I know...

So I finally got a hold of the dealer and they say that my Infiniti does not have any kind of anti-theft feature for the radio. Of course, they want me to bring my baby in so they can "fix it" and charge me an arm and a leg. They are telling me that the radio just gave up and needs to be replaced. They say that the battery has nothing to do with it. I don't believe them. My radio worked perfectly fine before the battery discharged. I don't believe that the radio just gave up all of a sudden. Can any body please please help me?

Look Familiar? Depending on what component(s) go bad, it's possible that something was weak and a voltage surge from jump starting or charging took it out? Or it could be a coincidence...

For $200 to repair it, I would consider looking on eBay for another unit if you could get it for less than $100. Tough call...you could buy another one that needs to be repaired in a month...

Gotta agree with the dealer and last post. Definitly try E-bay and car-part.com
