Has anyone fitted an aftermarket stereo to 2008 R51? I can't seem to find the correct harness so tried doing it the old fashon way by cutting and joining and nothing seems to be as it would on any other car
Any help or guidance would be appreciated
Thanks Fonzie

Metra has a harness for the R51 models in the US but I'm not sure it would be the same for the Aventura in the UK. http://www.metraonline.com/part/70-7553

Hi thanks for the fast reply. Although that does look different, I just can't seem to find anything that resembles the plug in my pathfinder.

There are a number of Euro style harness connector adapters I could point to on the Metra site. Can you post a picture of the vehicle harness or harnesses you want a connector for?

Check out https://incartec.co.uk/Nissan/Pathfinder-R51 They seem to have what you may be looking for, tailored specifically for the R51 with ISO connectors and additional connectors to various double DIN and single DIN audio systems to retain steering wheel controls.

Also do you know if it is possible to keep my standard reversing camera or do I need fit the one that came with head unit?
Once again thank you so much wish I found this forum before I spent 8 hours scratching my head lol

The aftermarket head units I've seen, including the one I have, which have a rear camera function, typically have a configuration setting to match up with the camera format type that is purchased separately. Yours, having come with a camera, might be locked into whatever type it is but maybe not. I know, that was a terribly vague answer. You might be able to use the Nissan camera. What is the model of aftermarket head unit you purchased?

Also I have tried to identify my speaker wires and I took the door card off to do so and the rear right speaker is a purple and grey wire so I assumed all the speakers are 1 purple and and 1 colour but when I leave power to the CD changer and unplug 3 of the purple wires one at a time the CD player still plays minus the speakers I have un plugged but when I unplug a certain purple wire on its own it pauses the track playing. Could this be because I have sat nav and that their are speakers connected to that so it pauses it?? Completely confused as thought all purple were speaker wires... Any help on this would be appreciated sorry as discription ain't grate but I'm trying to figure this out right now via trial and error

It looks like InCarTec has what you need. Your car plug matches perfectly with a few harnesses they have. Their harness with Nissan 20 pin radio replacement ISO adapter cable and steering control interface is their part number 49-671 https://incartec.co.uk/product/Nissan-2 ... ace-49-671 Their harness with Nissan 20 pin radio replacement ISO adapter cable (no steering controls) is their part number 20-163 https://incartec.co.uk/product/Nissan-C ... o-ISO-lead Their harness with Nissan 20 pin car radio replacement ISO steering wheel control cable (loose wire connections) is their part number 20-163-SWC https://incartec.co.uk/product/Nissan-2 ... 20-163-SWC

Each of these harnesses have the same 20 pin connector that fits your car's plug. The differences are how you intend to attach other features, like your steering wheel controls is you have that and want that connectivity, as well as how the head unit connections are made. As for that Golamimo head unit, I have no idea if tour Nissan OEM camera is going to work with it. I think it should but I really have no idea since I can find no access to its technical specs. I'm clueless regarding the audio tech stuff with your speakers, the CD changer and sat-nav. I hope you can get it all sorted out. I know this Nissan 20 pin connector should help. Good luck.

I'm not sure if this will help you with the wiring but here is the audio, visual, navigation system section of the Nissan factory service manual for a '08 Pathfinder. Pages AV-11 to AV-22 shows some of the terminal wire color connections for the 20 pin connector. However, I can't be certain if it's the same as with your Aventura. To start with, the steering wheel is on the wrong side. ;)

Thank you guys so much for all your help I'm away to order the harness right now. I honestly think I would need an electrical degree to wire it in manually lol and my steering wheel is on the right side 😂 not the wrong haha
Thanks Fonzie

It's only right because your roads are all wrong-sided. :chuckle:
