Radio retained power

Hi, I just bought a 2002 QX4 for a second vehicle. I was wondering if anyone added retained power to the radio. The window works for 10 minutes but not the radio. Can I switch the power for the radio to what powers the windows so the radio keeps playing after I turn off the car. I normally have places to go and wait so having the radio on after I turn off the car would be great. I figured I can rewrite the radio somewhere to tap into the window power or what would I need to add to make this happen.

The ignition signal into the AV Unit is what wakes it up. You don't want to change its power supply, just keep it awake. Snipping the ignition signal and re-routing it to a RAP power wire from the BCM should accomplish what you want.

Yes I want to keep it on. Now I need to find out what wires they are so I can cut and tap into the other wire

Check the manuals here, they should have complete ones for an '02, including WD's. You can probably pick up a RAP wire most easily at the inside connector for the driver's door where the Main harness mates with the Door harness.
