Radio Reception Sucks Horribly I searched =o]

My 09 Versa didn't come with a radio, so naturally I got an aftermarket one. The radio reception is horrible. Did I do something wrong during the install? I used the two radio harness adapters for the power\radio and the antenna. I grounded it to the screw that holds in the radio installation kit piece. The only thing I can think of is the blue wire on the antenna adapter being plugged in to the blue radio wire. Is the antenna an amplified one that would require this? The blue wire I am talking about is not the one used for remote and is separate from that.

Head Unit is a JVC KDR200
