Radio question

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

Hi guys, I have an EX35 journey 2008, it has the standard Bose radio, no navigation or rear camera, or bluetooth. I want to upgrade. Can I simply install the OEM Bose navigation set up from a donor vehicle or is there more to it that that?

Unfortunately it's neither simple or cheap. Unlike the current Nissan/Infiniti vehicles where everything's pretty much built into the head unit, on 2008-2012 EX35 models the radio and gps are separate components. Frankly it would be far cheaper and easier to buy a quality aftermarket unit that would have better sound quality, better gps with free updates, and more features.

To give you a rough idea of what's entailed by upgrading using OEM parts:

That being said, if you could source the parts from a donor vehicle, I think it is possible to do and others have done it. Especially going to the 08IT system (which the 2010+ cars have). Again it's possible but depends on if you can find the parts from a donor vehicle. In fact I think there's kits to do it on ebay.

Thank you so much for the response. I've considered aftermarket 2din head unit however I'm worried about the display for a/c controls.
