Okay, so I bought a Pioneer head unit over 3-4 months ago. I've just got to installing it now. Everything has power but there is NO SOUND. Nothing at all. My rear speakers don't work so I was trying to wire it to the front speakers because when I first bought the car it had an audio system with sound from the front speakers only. Can someone help me and tell me how to wire these things properly? Am I suppose to connect the positive to the negatives? How come there are 2 wires of the same color for ALL the wires? I need detailed assistance. ANYTHING to help. I ground it properly and it turns on. But no audio.

your stereo should of came with a booklet that shows which wires are for the front and the rear. it also says which are positive and negative. positive goes with positive and negative goes with negative. there should be a total of 8 wires besides the ground and some other ones, 2 for the front left, 2 for the front right, 2 for the rear left, 2 for the rear right. i know this because i have a pioneer stereo also.

Make sure your car doesn't have factory amps installed, if they do you need to bypass them.

If I did have factory amps, how would I bypass it? I haven't checked yet but I will first thing tomorrow.

you dont have to worry about any factory amp. i dont think the 240sx originally had a factory amp. when i installed mine i just saw the speaker wires and the antenna connection and the power connection.

They do have factory amps, depends if it had the upgraded stereo or not.

The colors are the same, they go to the apm them out of the amps into the speakers. If you have the amps, cut the wires to the amps and take them right to the speakers. Then remove the amps and toss em.
