Speaker box, as in Subwoofers??
You'll need to do some wiring for the amp and such (power, remote, ground and RCA's) for sure. Not entirely sure about doing it without re-wiring a quite a bit of things.
Personally, I just upgraded my Headunit to a Kenwood ddx318 in my '03 and unless I got lucky and acquired a pathy with unabused Bose speakers I find no need to add subs to my truck at this time. I was considering a full component swap along with the new head unit but upon installing I feel the sound improvement is quite nice and for under an hour worth of work I'm very pleased. One thing to note, when doing plug and play installation using factory amp you will acquire a very minimal "pop" from speakers upon start up or powering down of head unit due to amp powering up first and off last. Professional installer warned me about it. I barely notice it unless I am fully paying attention just to hear it.
Hope this helps
