Hi all. I wanted to tell every one how much i like this site. About 2 weeks ago i spoke to my son after not seeing him for 10 years, kidnapped durring a divorce. God sure is faithful. So i am in the process is fixing him up a real truck a 1997 nissan pickup 2wd xe. After seeing what every one had done here with there i upgraded the seats to pathfinder type bucket seats and a center console. Now I am upgrading the timing chain and gears. But I am also looking at 2 other things i am thinking about doing. Let talk bose cd player and stock cd players that i can swap out for a better sound system. I want to know is there a place i can find out what other nissan cd players i can just plug into this truck. You know ebay has alot of nissan CD players. Right now i have a standard tape player only. Also i was wondering if anyone has ever put electric pathfinder doors on a hardbody pickup. Thanks for the help.

Easiest way and lowest cost is to go with aftermarket system. You can go to wal mart and get a wiring adapter that plugs into stock harness and allows you to spile open end into wiring on new radio cd deck. About 10 bucks also pick up the 15 buck adapter kit to mount radio solid and correct. Any number of good after market systems are available from JVC(wal mart) for under 100 bucks or go 150 and get base line Alpine, great for expanding. If your kid love loud music like me get one with at least one set of preamp out put RCA plugs for adding a sub woofer. Door and back filler speakers can be run right off unit or with speaker wires amplified to match the sub. This is all in the line of upgrading as you go along. If you need any help wiring or mounting unit and speakers email me I will be glad to help. I am a electronics tech and have installed stereos in all my cars and trucks and many friends. It can seem complicated but it is easy if explained correctly. This is if you are not already familiar with car stereos. My email is [email protected]. Would be glad to call you and walk you through anything I can. I have some experience in stereos, even though I am computer tech by trade. For the bang for the buck I am real good at getting a nice loud clear sound cheap.

Sounds like maybe you didnt use a wiring harness. If you didnt and you cut the yellow illumination wire then that would be your problem. From what i can tell it looks as if it makes a loop from the radio to the dash and if it got cut and wired to the radio then it is not making it back to the dash

Well, if this helps you out. I put all Sony Xplod stuff in my std cab. I have a middle of the road cd player that has a port in the front for an Ipod. Then I put 6 1/2'' component set that has the separate tweeters in the door. They also come with a crossover. I had to put a 1/2'' MDF ring on the door to mount the driver too because there too deep and wouldn't let the window roll down. Just covered them with matching grey carpet like the floor. Then I put two 500 watt amps under the seat. I put one 10'' shallow mount driver behind the seat (centered) so that it is not pounding me or the passenger in the back. It is in a long box that mounts under the lip that sticks out under the back window. It is a ported enclosure tuned to 35hz. It is also covered in matching grey carpet. But the mounting depth is only 2 1/8'' so I didn't have to move my seat forward. I have one amp on the doors and the other bridged mono on the sub. Little truck rocks. And all that cost me under 750$ That was doing the labor myself.

As for the electric doors I would buy a electric window kit before I tried to do a door swap. Doors cant be cheap. Window kits are pretty cheap. You can get the keyless entry kits and windows pretty much anywhere.
