My car is a 2008 m45X with 150k kilometers i have no sound from any source on the radio cd dvd or any other source. it started with the sound quitting when vehicle started then coming back the next start finally no sound after about a week. Went to Infiniti and they said first it was the Amp gone give us $1000 and we will fix it. So i went to Ebay and got one for 150...well that did not work. Infiniti said you must have a bad one ...oh wait did we say it was the Amp no its the Head unit give us 1200 and that will fix it. So i go to Ebay and after getting the wrong radio sent (still fighting for money back) $400,i found the right one for $125. Now i take it to Infiniti and low and behold ...Nothing it does the same thing everything is running but no sound. No stereo shop will touch it they say it to complicated! The audio menu will not wok or the sounds menu or the phone menu but the phone wil still connect but no sound . same with the Nav no sound. Could it be the module behind the front facia for the power volume button? Or is it a problem from the amp to speakers how do you check for audio signals? So i now have a Radio and amp that are most likely just fine plus another set. And with all the charges i am close to 1k in bills. Has anyone had this problem or have you heard of this...Quite in Kelowna :wtf2:

Welcome to the forum.

I could have sworn we had users who replaced amps before to get sound back with great success...surprised to read that didn't work for you here. Have you tried entering the diagnostics screen and poke around in there? I forget how to get in there, but it does exist.

That's a head scratcher indeed. Assuming you had the dealer install those parts, it's safe to say they were done properly. The only other things that I can think of would be to check fuses and verify the unit is getting power. I assume the dealer already did this, but you never know. The fuse location should be in the FSM .

Do you have an armrest in the back seat with any electronics going to it?? If you do, check the wire harness for breaks where the armrest rotates up and down.

Hi- this is exactly my issue too. I took it to an independent auto electric shop, they said it its the "Auto finisher board" which is to blame. The indy shop called the Infiniti dealer and they said the parts aren't made anymore. So we managed to find radio, CD player and finisher board from another M35 but it didn't work. In my situation, I have no Navi, no HVAC controls, no fan speed, nothing. The backup camera works, all other electric stuff on the car work. But I'm in a cold climate, so this needs to be fixed by October.

A radio stereo installation place refuses to touch it. They will put in a new radio, but I need the HVAC controls, or this car need to be thrown in the garbage. Any suggestion would be welcome as I need to fix, and then get rid of this car.
