Yea it was too rich for me also, but I bid high enough from the start and won (I'm SR311). I was kind of sorry you posted this, as I was hoping to keep the cost down.

I was going to bid on it until I saw that everyone and their brother got
notified of it...then I knew there was no chance of getting a decent price.
Full notifications like that work great with local stuff that not everyone
has access too or stuff that's being personally sold, but it blows everyone
out with the ebay stuff.  There's always someone with more money and better
bidding software.  Oh well.

Anyone know anything about plastic casting?  We could check into getting
these reproduced.  Just like the hood emblems...make those too!

Yea, that's usally what happens, but in this case, My big bid was the first bid. I had bid high so I wouldn't get sniped.

$80+!!!!  Holy Cow!!! No matter what my desire to have another plate is, there's no way I can afford to spend that kind of money on one!!  

I'm going to start looking into getting a mold made of the one we have.  Really, only the front of it needs to be correct, the back could almost be rough...just as long as there was a way to mount it.

I checked your link out......really nice looking 521!!!!

Mike: Make a mold and cast it in Aluminum...bet ya could sell quite a few of them...



As far as notifying everyone...I had bid and it went beyond what I could/would pay for it...figured it was better to get it to someone who could afford to bid higher...

maybe we should have a section or posting thread that has everyone's ebay names in it so we know who we are bidding against form the forum...I'd probably let something go to someone I know easier than just a name on ebay...
