2006 G35x and loving every mile!

My radio controls on the steering wheel do not work EXCEPT (get this...) when I have the wheel turned. I don't have to turn it much, maybe 10 degrees in either direction, for the controls to start working again.

Certainly it is a wiring issue inside the column but what I want to know is how much of an effort it is to fix this myself. Can anyone share any tips or ideas on this? Thanks a ton!

Welcome to NICO! Not sure to be honest...but feel free to look at the FSM (link in my sig) for info.

See page 44 to check the Spiral Cable....I think that supplies the steering wheel switches but further digging into the FSM as Joe stated would help verify.

You can use the steps from the link below to remove the upper and lower column covers to see if you notice anything wrong without removing the steering wheel but I doubt that will suffice. The steps are for a 2007+ model but should be similar for your 2006.

Thanks, all! Great information and I'll check back in with results.
