so this has happend 3 times......2 this morning while i was driving and once while my car was warming up when i was not in the car.....so this morning i was driving down the road listening to 101.1 when all of a sudden the station changed to 101.3. I switched it back and thought nothing of it, when 5 mins later it happened again! After this happened twice this morning it got me thinking.....one morning after i got into my car after letting it warm up in the driveway, the radio was on 101.3, when i was pretty sure it was on 101.1 when i started the car(my car radio rarely never moves off of 101.1......and it never is on another channel in the mornings). Now none of my pre-sets are set to 101.3 because around the DC area, its just fuzz, so its not an issue of me accidently hitting a button on the steering wheel.

So does anyone have any suggestions as to why this is happening? I have the tech package with the factory nav btw. I have an iPhone and i know sometimes it can make electronics do funny things, but i dont think thats whats causing this problem. I know people will probably say to take it to dealership, but i know its not something that i can reproduce myself, and they wont look at anything unless they see it happen themselves, so thats going to be a useless trip unless it starts happening regularly.

The only thing I can possibly think of is that the tune knob on the head unit is loose; hit a small bump in the road and maybe it clicks up one notch??

I don't think it has anything to do with the steering wheel controls because a tap of it switches between presets and holding it performs the scan station function...

As you have said, until you can pinpoint the problem and recreate it, don't take it to the dealer!! I'm sure you'll pay a little more attention to it now. When it happens again, check to see if you go over a bump, or are in a certain area....hell, try not bringing your phone with you and see if that is the problem!

well i only listen to my radio in the AM....any other time im listening to my ipod, so what im going to do is just listen to the radio all the time and see if it keeps happening. if it does keep happening with 101.1 im going to try a different station to see if it does the same, and if it keeps happening frequently then ill take it in to the dealership and hope it happens there as well.

Mine does something similar also. Although I don't listen to regular radio (I listen to XM) at times when I get in the car and start it up, my preset would be set to XM1 but I push the button and it goes back to XM42...

sounds to me like your car is haunted. I believe that is covered under the warranty though.

well it happened on the way home tonight.....in about 45 mins it did it 3 times on 2 different channels, except one of the times the frequency went down instead of up. I tried to see if there was a pattern like mins between each one, but it seemed like in between the 1st and 2nd time it was 5 mins, then between the 2nd and 3rd time it was 6-7 mins, and then i waited about 9 mins after the 3rd time and it didnt do it again and i didnt feel like waiting anymore. so thats 5 times it happened today in an hour and 15 mins of driving. im still afraid that if i take it to the dealership it wont happen. i guess it wont hurt to tell them to look out for it when they change my oil next weekend.
