Does anyone else have a distortion problem with thier bose radio/ cd player after listening to it after about 30 min. of driving/ listening? It happens to me on my 03 M45. it will stop distorting for a little while if you change from radio to cd. But it returns to the distortion a few minutes later. Thanks in advance.

Welcome to NICO!

Unfortunately, I think this is the first time I have heard of this. Seems like some component inside an electronic part of your audio system is overheating (amplifier perhaps?) and this is causing the symptoms you describe. But this is a complete guess, since it does not totally explain the behavior.

A trip to the dealer may be needed ... I hope you are under warranty (or extended warranty).

Thanks for the advise. I thougt it might be the amp also but I wanted try to find out before I go to the dealer. As you know most Infiniti service writers don't own Infinities nor do they drive them. It helps to be organized when you talk with them. I find that the very few service managers own or drive Infinities. If you don't have a tech with lots of experience, and I mean 10 years or so, you are in deep do do. I have owned many Q45s and usually have a better idea than they do of what going wrong with our cars. But electronics are another thing all together.

My 03 M45 CD will do a similar thing. In my case I assume it is the CD changer mistracking on CDR's I have recorded. I find this very annoying since many vehicles I have owned including a 99 Q45, 99 Corvette, Chevy C2500 worked fine with these same CDs. My Nissan Titan has no problem playing them too. I can only assume something is heating up in the CD changer causing it to misead the CDRs.

The dealer says it is either the audio board or the rear amp. I'm still under warranty so it's not going to cost me anything for the repairs. My problem is I live too far from the dealer and if they are wrong I will have to make multipal trips. The warranty does not cover the tolls or my gas and time.

Ask them for a loaner and have them keep your car till they figure out which part it is and replace it!

Means you will have to live with a G35 for a few days perhaps ...

I have been a customer so long and owned so many Infinities that they usually give me a M35 as a loaner. Thats not the problem. It's the 1 hour plus trip each way that I'm tired of doing.R

Nice!

A good point.

But, it would be better to keep the loaner for a few days than make two trips if their first guess is not correct.

I get the same problem when I'm just sitting in the machine drinking a number of cold ones in my driveway. I would suggest you stop drinking and driving-it should clear up just fine...

Well I guess this must be the idiot forum. And all this time I thought I was going to be able to get some good tech info. I think I should try another forum. Is there one for infinitis owners and not for Infiniti idiots?
