Radio antena

So I'm getting really anoyed with my antena. I have the stock deck in my 92 240 and everytime i put the antena down it makes a rubbing noise for the last second and a bit. I tried spraying it with a silacon spray but it didn't help. It seems to be a little quieter when it's raining but not silent like i want it. any ideas? anyone had this prob?

yeah well mine is bent to hell....so uk what, find the wire behind the head unit and disconect it........there, no automatic antena. problem solved right?

my antenna started rubbing and not extending/closing all the way. So I made a weight reduction of removing the whole assembly. I ended up putting a fuga style antenna in place of it. It looks sleek and factory like.

Since I posted that, I found you can find the same stlye antenna on eBay with the proper connector. It's also a lot cheaper than a stock VW antenna.
