I have a 2015 Q70S 5.6

Essentially the dealer mechanics were attempting to fix a key fob issue, and had to access I believe the ECM or whatever module the ECM uses to reference the key fob to turn the car on. In doing so however the sound wont come anymore, and they think its because they disconnected a wire related to the sound system. It was working prior to disconnecting said wire.

The dealer said they would reimburse labor if I bring it to an audio shop, but if I can just reconnect a plug myself it'd be no issue.

I was wondering if anyone has encountered this issue of losing sound? or know the locations of all the wires pertaining to the bose sound system? Thanks!

It's the BCM they would have been accessing to diag a fob problem, not the ECM. The BCM is right next to the steering column on a Q70 and there isn't much in the way of connectors they would have taken loose to get at it. You could stick your head up under the driver's side dash and see if there's anything obviously loose, but unless you have an aftermarket sound system, it rather sounds like they blew a fuse while poking around under there.

Okay that makes sense, they mentioned something starting with a B. I will have to check out the under side when I am free, but when I run the diagnostic it shows this for the amplifier:

Check the Bose fuses. I haven't looked it up for your Q, but there are usually two 15A or 20A fuses in parallel because of the large current drawn by the amplifier. On most rides they're in the cabin fusebox.

So checked the fuses and everything looked good However..

I found out the car actually has a completely custom audio system that the dealer was unaware of.. Where the spare tire would go there are 3 indiivudal amps powering a a huuge sub in the back. I didnt see the sub because it was blended in with the trunk interior.

What it seems like now is that the dealer mechanics unknowingly disconnected a number of ground points in the battery compartment, as well as the power wire going to the battery. I will have to remove the battery because I believe they didnt realized one of the power cables was meant for the aftermarket amp, and they set the battery ontop of it.

Will keep this thread updated

Wow, yeah surprise indeed! But helps answer the questions - system isn't getting powered due to lack of ground.
