Radio and Bluetooth questions

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

Hello

I am embarrassed to asked these 2 questions because I am sure it is obvious, yet it is not to me.

1) I used to have XM but am not interested in keeping it so let my subscription lapse. Yet, XM1, 2 and 3, as a "source options" are still there. Is there a way to program the radio so these are no longer offered as source options? I tried in the Settings but found nothing. Highly frustrating to have to go all 3 XM source to cycle from FM1 back to AM or Ipod or CD/DVD.

I have the Bose + navi system, by the way.

2) A second question: is there a way to simply press the Blue tooth button and say "Call Home" without having to go through all the sub menus? i.e. "Phone", "handset handbook", "name", "number", "dial". etc...I have set the option for customized voice to ON but don't understand the programming. I thought I did some tag phrases, but I am all confused.

Thanks for helping a computer illiterate!

I've been around here for a little while and you would be surpised at the scope of some of the things I see. Technology questions are never bad questions.

First question- There is no way to remove the option to scroll through XM in the EX. In prior models there was a separate unit that could be removed but since 2007 Infiniti has been using an integrated XM receiver in the main audio unit.

Second question- There are really only a few voice commands on the EX.
The image below is a clipping from the manual section that highlights this.

There is no way to say only Call X
In alternate command mode it is slightly easier to access this but you had the right idea with going with the voice tag.

You can find and edit voicetags inside the phonebook in the SETTINGS menu area.

Thanks, Steve, I printed it.

Now, armed with a marker, a Ph.D and patience i'll figure it out. According to the manual I should be able to to say something like "Dial John" if I have a voice tag to this effect. I am just not sure it will work... Anyhow, I am going in!

You should go through the speaker adaptation mode too, it will teach you timing you will teach it your tone and accent.
