I have a 2006 M45 Sport and it was purchased with the A/C and radio buttons not working. There is a prompt on the display that I cannot bypass as the controls in the climate control section do not work. I checked the fuses in the drivers footwell and IPDM and they all seem to be fine. Anyone else had this issue? If so, what was the fix? Is this similar to the G35 issues where there is a bad resistor in the radio control unit? Thanks in advance.

Is the entire center stack not working? Does the CD drive work? It sounds like a bad wiring harness. Have you tried removing the center stack to check that everything is connected?

I’ve removed the radio and didn’t see any loose wires. I checked all fuses but there’s still no power to AC controls or radio. I know Units in G35’s had a similar issue which was related to a wire that needs to be resoldered back to the board.

Could you check voltage at the power wires going into the radio unit? If it has power at the plug going right into it then perhaps the unit is simply dead?

My other thoughts would be something related to the BCM?

I’ll try to get a hold of a meter to check. I don’t think it’s the BCM as it would then throw a P code.

I replaced the radio receiver/climate control module located behind the radio and it still did not power up. So it seems it's not the radio itself but something else.

Our older Maximas sometimes have similar issues, and the culprit is usually the HVAC control head (Nissan calls it the "A/C Auto Amp). On your M it's located directly above the radio, sharing the same brackets. When they go bad they've been known to take down the entire CANbus. See page ATC-125 here for the location:

Yep I replaced the radio and the attached HVAC control unit and issue persists. I was really hoping that simply changing the whole unit would fix it. Now back to square one.

Fuse #37 is critical to both the HVAC and AV and is not in the cabin fusebox or IPDM. It's in the underhood Fuse & Relay Box. If you haven't checked it, you need to. See PG-112 here:
https://www.nicoclub.com/service-manual ... 5%2Fpg.pdf

If #37 is good, then if it isn't a power issue with one of the three units (AV, HVAC or multifunction switch panel), the only thing that's left is a bad switch panel. That's on a bit-bang LAN link with the AV, so bad contacts or a degraded circuit board can definitely cause a "dead" AV and HVAC. However, you need to eliminate power problems first. See the wiring diagram on ATC-46 and the diagrams starting on AV-15 here, depending which audio system you have:
https://www.nicoclub.com/service-manual ... 5%2Fav.pdf

You need to have battery, ignition, accessory and ground where shown to all three units. Use a test lamp and not a voltmeter, and test between the unit ground wires and power wires, not to a chassis ground. That will eliminate bad ground wires along with revealing any power problems.

I had a suggestion submitted to me that it may also be the DVD/Bluetooth receiver in the glove compartment. Does anyone know how to remove it so that I can try and replace it with a known working unit?

The FSM doesn't show any separate Bluetooth device, that appears to be built into the Navi. What's behind the glove box is the Navi (or AV Control Unit on non-Navi cars), it's the brains of the system. I suppose it's possible that could be suppressing the audio for some reason, but the actual speaker signals would come from the Audio Unit. You can see where everything is located here on AV-64:

Could this unit be responsible for my radio and climate controls not powering on?

Thank you for confirming. Just trying to make sure I purchase the correct part that has some significance as it relates to the issue.

I replaced the GPS navigation control module and issue persists. So now I can count that part out as being the culprit too. i've already checked all fuses and replaced the radio receiver. SMH

If the BCM is replaced, does it have to be programmed to the car?
