All you "sidewall will ruin the design" people-

Sidewall just one side... as in, just the outside... DUH!

Those little webs would catch/fling so much **** around...I think they would shield them just to keep debris from getting inside the tire unbalancing it, or being shot up into the following car...

how do you figure that would happen? It has normal tread on the outside, not flappers that pick **** up and fling it at people

Michelins now are expensive....I can only imagine how expensive those would be.

Then just wall the outer side and put some sort of lightweight, durable mesh on the inside. I dunno, I'm just a guy, I don't know if this will work, just a suggestion so dont flame.

Old news or not...............they look booty, also look very unsafe to me. I don't like the idea how they can flex.........seems wrong all around.

I see what you are saying, but try to keep an open mind. Have you ever seen a Bias-ply tire on a Nascar car during a turn (probably not, nobody watches Nascar, and yet it is the most popular form of racing in america... go figure). Anyway, they flex A LOT. They truly look like they are going to break too.

Its all about the stress/strain curve, and how much elastic deformation a material can take before it starts plastic deformation. Rubbers can go a long way.

I can't get past how ugly they are to even critically debate the flex.

They could add some drain holes on the inside or something for water, or, better yet, make the inside sidewall a mesh that lets any condensation and air out and keeps debris from getting in.

Excellent point, but I more than likely will never have those types of tires on my ride.
