youve got a pretty bad spun rod bearing. stop driving it immediately! if you keep driving it there could be a huge chance of throwing a rod through the block. then you wouldnt be able to rebuild it if thats the route you take.

do not start that engine under any circumstance. have it towed to a shop if need be, as previously stated its most likely a rod bearing. and if its not its something that is equaly as bad.

Agreed.

Its imperitive you do not start the engine again under any circumstances....Rod knock that bad is a very very serious problem.

Its impossible to have the rods fit perfectly without any play so The bearings job is to sort of fill the gap between the rod, and the crank shaft and bear the load between the two surfaces. they are little rings that sit between the rod and crankshaft.

When your rod bearings get worn too much, the clearence increases and your rods can knock around and create unbalanced stresses through the rod AND crank shaft.

you can buy the bearings at any auto parts store. to replace them, simply drain your oil. remove the oil pan. And you will be able to access the bottom end of your engine where the bottoms of the rods connect to the crank shaft. The rods themselves will unbolt and seperate into two pieces, alowing you to seperate them from the crank shaft.

Take out the old bearings, and install the new ones ^.^

yeh...if your going to scrap the engine anyway, just buy the bearings and give it a shot. If you **** it up your only around 50$ in the hole and youve learned something.
