An oddity of the Versa is that it doesn't have a temperature gauge. Instead it has a blue thermomator icon that lights up at first until the engine gets warm. To be on the safe side, I replace the thermostat at 80,000 miles so as to avoid any surprises. My main radiator hose is fine, and I flush the radiator every year. Have any of you installed a after market gauge? How much?

I got a ScangaugeII. Those things are pretty sweet and report the water temp as well as many other things. I havent flushed the radiator as I thought was a 120,000 mile thing.

THanks for the information, guys. I actually flushed it (Prestone Do it Yourself Kit) at 100,000 miles, but I do replace the fluid every year (flush?) I will look at the Scanguage II.

you probably don't have to flush the system every year. Anyoen know from emeory what the mileage interval between flushes is? I was thinking 30 - 60k.

It's at 60K mile intervals.

But, if you buy something like this with a 150K mile protection, should you still flush every 60K?

For schedule 1 and 2 it's at 60,000 miles or 48 months.

Even the "premium" schedule has it at 30,000 miles and two years.

Flushing your radiator every year is a waste of time, money and fluid.

Sorry to everyone, but I meant drain the radiator fluid. I have a personal mechanic; so aside from the fluid , it costs me $ 60.. It's good to be cautious with cars. I have 125,000 miles on the car, and all I've replaced are the right motor mount and alternator. Not bad, really.
