Generally most performance setups go with an all aluminum radiator so there shouldn't be any ill effects at all.

Since i a building a turbo max i was looking for an all aluminum radiator that would be direct drop in to the stock radiator. Well i found one on ebay and i was the only that had ordered one cause no one wants to trust ebay with it since its so cheap. It goes for 135 shipped. My other boy just bought it and put it in and he says its doing perfectly fine and better since the core is twice as thick and the tanks are all aluminum and bigger than the stock one here is the link

What is the difference in weight between the stock and the aluminum unit? Enough to make an acceleration difference?

oh no not much to make an acceleration difference. The aluminum one is meant to hold up better and if anythign keep your car running a bit cooler but yeah nothing with acceleration. if what you want is weight reduction think about removing all your seats except the driver seat. and removing the sound reduction crap they put under the rug....but yeah an aluminum radiator will stand up better to heat and wont break like the plastic stock ones do and it doe keep your car running a bit cooler
