I found some DIRT in my side tank. So i figured i would go get her flushed, i was thinking maybe that is maybe why it is getting hot. So i was wondering where is a good place to go get her flushed? And how much...thankz.

hey man.. im havin some cooling probs too. as for you question, you can flush it yourself. i assume you mean your coolent recovery tank, all you gotta do is take the tank off, and clean it out, and to drain the radiator [in case its dirty too] just unscreww the drain plug under the car thats all.

but here's my problem: my raditor burst on me, so i quickly ordered a new one and replaced it. BUT, since then.. my car seems to be 'over'-pressurized. every time i drive it anywhere, all the water in my system flows into the reservior and boils over. so every time i wanna go anywhere i have to refill the rad with water. BUT, if i leave my cap off, the water doesnt boil over except it still seems to evaporate or something, and i still need to refill it with water every time. thing is, it NEVER over heats, just runs dry. anyone know what the hell is going on??

Drifter check the rad cap and the thermostat. Biggee got to ebay and get a new rad. I just bought one for $143 and I got it the next day. If it is that dirty then it is prob corroded and time for a new one.

I think the first three guys taht posted should take your car to a competent mechanic. Cooling issues are not that complicated at all, the cooling system consists of about 5 pieces that are all relatively simple. Be sure you bleed your system of all air using the bleeder screw. Check your thermostat. Check for coolant in oil or oil in coolant. Do a pressure test on the cooling system. ANY competent mechanic ANYWHERE can flush and fill a cooling system. Read around here for the instructions, they've been posted, and try to do it yourself.

that sux man, that **** sounds like my car, but i dont know. I um..might get that one stuff, i think one guy had, that a guy put it in his radiator, and it like made it totally cold all the time. so if i can hear from that guy again, and find out what the stuff was it would be great, i know he had 240 in his name.

my car know has a miss in it. my dad thinks that it is um...a bad plug. Also, i have a ****ign oil leak lol. but i have no coolant in my oil or oil in my coolant so i figured that, it's not a blown headgasket. Yet, it keeps over heating, ive changed the thermostat, fan, water pump, one hose. And i dont know, im going to get a new radiator and radiator cap. So after that it better be fine.

That happened to my car also..exacly the same problem...I am afraid that your head gasket needs to be replaced before the problem warps your head...(well the car's... :-)...) my problem was detected after I changed the head gasket and used an "inferior" torque wrench (howww sstuupid!!) anyway..remanufactured the radiator ($65.00), replaced the rad cap ($8.00), the head gasket ($35.00) got a good torque wrench (the click type, for the incredible price of $19.99 at Harbor Freight store) and put about 3 hrs of work and the car is running. If the head is warped :-( ...you will have to take it to a machineshop for work..that will cost extra, make sure that you torque the head bolts in sequence and at the correct torque presure..(oh...I forgot my trusty haynes repair manual ($15.00).

It is always great to work with somebody else..never alone around cars..two heads are better than one..four eyes are better than two....well you get my drift... and for the serious note if you get traped under the car ...that other person can get you out or call for help faster than you will!!!

By the way I am just a home mechanic with a very...very tight budget...(aren't we all???)

Not bad for a $200.00 car!:ylsuper

heh, n2jkw has some pretty good advice. i did find out that my head might be warpped [since ive been driving it like this for a month now] and tat it will be about 80 bucks to machine it. so there goes the rest of my summer cash, but it will be worth it.
