Post

I currently am doing an rb26 swap in my 300zx 2+2 and so far the biggest PITA on the project so far is radiator fitment. I got a small radiator ( http://www.summitracing.com/parts/AFC-80107N/ )now that fits in two spots.

The first spot is on top of the front crossmember close to the stock radiator location, but in order to get it to fit ill have to cut part of the headlight frame out and modify the radiator a little bit which I prefer not to do...

My other option is it could sit between the intercooler and front crossmember but only problem is it will be about 6" from the ground and the hose will have to run underneath the crossmember. With that Im just worried about it hitting ground or something and radiator hose pops off and fluid gushes out... then again I was thinking I could make a skid plate to protect it

Any ideas? think its safe to have it sit that low? take on flexable hoses?

btw excuse me if the what im calling the front crossmember is called something else lol

also no need to refer me to rbz32.com, Ive already posted there but but highly doubtful ill get a response

My opinion, don't have the hoses run underneath the cross member, too many problems that could come up from that. The skid plate is a good Idea.

The radiator support adds support to the unibody, but its takes some tweaking pretty well. I had to replace the whole support, and did not have access to a welder, so bolting it on is what I had to do. If you can get your hand on a welder(with doing a RB motor, you should have one), you can do some amazing things not only to tweak but stiffen the body. If you have pics, I might be able to help with ideas.
