Whats up Nico well i got a new car (2001 CRV) dont worry i still got the Pathfinder and had it for about 2-3 months. Tonight i returned home from the gym and parked in the driveway my dad tells me my car smells like shhh. I pop the hood and turn on my car to see coolant leaking out seems to be coming from the very top but i cannot find a crack or leaky hose.. My fan kicked on and my temp gauge is normal. Can i put some of the Radiator Stop leak or is this one of thoes things that magically spills and never spills again!? lol its a 2001 CRV EX with 75xxx miles.... HONDA FOURMS ARE SO DAMN UN-HELPFUL everyone there is ignorant as hell... ANYWAY TIA NICO CLUB!!!!

I wouldn't use stop leak. I have seen it clog up radiators before, to the point of blowing off rad hoses. Since you just got it, someone may have topped it off and spilled some coolant hopefully, unless you can pinpoint a leak.

It would suck to get stranded. If you wanna try the stop leak it should work for you, if its a small leak. I would price a new rad, since its leakin anyway. Then flush the system when you drop a new one in. Good luck man, if I was there I could help you more, I just wanna let you know about stop leak.

Can you get a pressure tester and test the system? I think a company called Stant makes one.

New to you car! Stop! Now use logic, your brain, car stinks, car pukes coolant. You do not know where or why its doing this so investigate!

Drain the coolant completely, examine it for content, do not use stop leak because you do not know what your stopping a leak in, what size or where.

With system drained look for particles, gaskets, bronze, anything. Check the rad for blockages, check the thermostat for working correctly, check the quantity of fluid removed as per the book.

A full coolant system needs expansion room, check the expansion bottle.

A full coolant system is never full, needs room when hot. Check the cooling fan clutch.

After every component is checked you should have an idea what is wrong, make sure you clean out and flush the complete system, then refill with no silicate anti freeze at 50/50 with distilled water.

Take your time and do it right then you should be good.

While all coolant out and from your comments I would do a compression check to test that head gasket, wide open throttle, charged battery and a decent gauge.

You may find another problem.

hot water in a bucket and douse the area and check again? i remember when i had a POS 92 Accord it did the same thing, couldnt see anything till i did that then i could see a hairline crack with a bubble forming... I know its common sense but doenst hurt to bring this up.
