Radiator Maybe?

Hi, I have a 2005 Nissan Sentra and I have always kept it up to date on service calls. Friday I was having a problem with my heat not working. When I turned it on cold air came out. I took it to a mechanic to be fixed. He told me that it just needed to be flushed and it would be all set. I had him do that but the next day while driving on the highway with my friend we started to smell this crazy odor coming out of my vents. The next thing I know the temp. gauge is reading way to hot and the car started bucking. I pulled over and shut the car off right away. When I lifted the hood there was antifreeze all over the place and my coolant was empty. I was able to fill the radiator with water and drive it to a parking lot. What in you opinion could it be? If it is the radiator should it have gone this quickly. The car is only a year and a half old.

Might be a hose... Still under warranty, right?

Nothing should die that fast, how extreme have you been driving it?

My mechanic told me that it needs a new radiator. It is just over it's warranty. I do not drive this car crazy and I get it's regular maintence. I am so frustrated with Nissan cause they will do nothing for me.

Has he checked the thermostat? A stuck one will cause all of your initial problems also.

i'm thinking your mechanic did something wrong... did he check for external leaks before he gave it back to you? guess not!

how is it that year already out of warranty? mileage up thurr? is my guess... i'd have a look @ the maintenance records to see how you maintained your vehicle & go from there...

hopefully, u didn't blow a head gasket!
