I recently purchased a 93, 5-speed Nissan 240sx. At first the car was fine. After a few days I noticed that it was dropping coolant. This happens every time the car gets hot. A small puddle forms by the radiator cap, right under the intake by the other smaller hoses making a real mess. Could one of the small hoses be leaking or can this be caused by the radiator cap being too loose? Can it be a more serious problem? Any answer to these questions would be greatly appreciated.

Its not a serious problem until you lose too much coolant and there is a lack of it in the system. It can be caused by a loose radiator cap, check to see if its tight and see if it leaks. You can replace this part if you think its the problem part, its not like a gas cap where you can turn it forever. If the radiator cap doesnt stop and you can tell its not going fully latch on then its probably broken. With radiator caps the cap is either tightened where it wont move or its open, there is no kinda tight or kinda loose with this piece.
