I have a 1994 Q45 car and my radiator ran out of fluids twice in the past 2 weeks. Lately, I added 50/50 radiator fluid and radiator leak repair solution. My question is how good is this radiator leak repair solution and how permanent or long lasting is it? Will this solve my problem or will I have to buy a new radiator, hose, and etc.

If I need to replace my radiator, what else should be replaced? Hoses, clamps, water pump, etc? If I buy the replacement parts myself, can my non-Infinity mechanic install them or do I absolutely need an Infiniti Authorized mechanic to do this?

For now, I will check the radiator reservoir fluids every day and put 50/50 radiator fluid solution in my trunk just in case.

Thanks,

Order a new radiator TODAY,any competant shop can flush out all the goop you put in real well, and install new radiator with all 3 hoses.Consider replacing water pump, thermostat, all 3 idler pullies and 3 belts especially if all these parts are original.Infiniti radiator is crazy expensive {$600+},I installed a aftermarket CSF brand, and seems to work just as well, and fits perfectly, cost $200 or so,couldnt see the the value in spending the $ on OEM radiator on a 12+ year old car that will be retired in 2-3 years,or sooner if it gets in an accident/stolen.

Ps-I had T3replace my original waterpump at 201,000 miles as preventive maintenance while I was having belts, original thermostat & pullies changed, and it still looked good with no corrosion/erosion on impeller and bearing still smooth and tight-maybe it would have lasted til 300,000 miles? for $112.00 it is cheap insurance against a breakdown on side of road.

I wonder how much Griffin charges for their custom ones like Dennis has?

I would recommend adding the auxiliary ATF cooler at the same time and bypassing the OEM heat exchanger.

I actually passed by the Griffin factory on the way to Atlanta! I would also add to my previous post to check the fan clutch, fan blade for cracks, and definitly replace both the filling & radiator caps

Do you know if all 90-96 use the same radiator or if they changed for 94-96? Or is it that the active has a different radiator than all the rest?

94-96 has different radiator with 2 transmission coolers{one on each end},the 90-93 only had 1 transmission cooler with dismal results.

You could use a 90-93 radiator in a 94 if you had an external cooler...

Friend of mine has a CSF in his 94. Metal end tanks, great piece and like qship96 said its like 200... Much better than the plastic OEM rad, IMO..

I would just replace the radiator for now, see what else is bad while you're in there... you could replace the hoses too.

Thanks for everyones help.

I plan on buying the radiator, 3 hoses, water pump, and thermostat. The belts and pulleys where changed about 2 years ago.

Can someone recommend a web site to order these parts? I don't want to pay the full price for an OEM radiator and the CSF looks good. What web site offers these for sale? And what is different with the CSF compared with OEM radiator.

Thanks,

order all parts except radiator from joe at everythinginfiniti.com-they are offering an additional 5% off their already discounted prices right now! Might as well order the belts from joe also, cost less than 30 for the package of all 3 ! Search the web for CSF radiators in your area.

He's a friend of mine and used to work at a radiator distributor (pretty sure they sold koyo and CSF)

CSF rocks. I bought one for my first Q. Metal end tanks, good price, great cooling!

The only stopleak stuff you should ever use is barsleak powder or tablets. Its harmless ground ginger root. The silver stuff with flakes is THE DEVIL.
