The coolant in the resevior tank keeps getting low and I can't find out where the leak is from. I do notice spots on the ground when I backed out and it's green so I know it's coolant. My car has overheated many times because the coolant keeps on leaking.

Could someone guide me on what to do or what I need to buy to fix this problem.

Thank you for your time.

if u did a visual & still can't pinpoint it, goto autozone/ other local parts slinger: u can rent a tool fo free...

pressurize to ~14 psi to simulate system pressure & hope to see where it's leaking...

do it ASAP to prevent warpage of the head/ blowing the gasket.

PS: oil thick/black like hershey's syrup? change it now...

resivour tank is NOT an indicator of the fluid level of the system. open the radiator cap when COOL (otherwise you risk getting badly burned) and check the fluid level there. that is were you need to add fluid if it is low, not the tank.

check your tank itself for leaks or holes, especially near the top corner. it could be sloshing out onto the driveway

I just replaced the coolant resevior tank because it was cracked and I thought that was why the radiator fluid keep on disappearing, but after replacing the tank same problem.

I do see a dripping spot on the ground but I can't figure out where it's dripping. Anymore help is great. Thanks

sorry snail for the slight mis-information... (i was thinkgin of sis' 97 chevy cavalier, which has a pressurized cap on the resevoir & none on the radiator itself!)

but I assumed that this is a "closed" system, using the radiator cap's pressure/vaccuum valves to regulate the system's level & to keep from ingesting air bubbles, if the resevoir is intact.

GU, u gotta look around the engine bay... dripping near water pump? hose clamps? near the intake manifold/throttle body? heater hoses near the firewall?

If you can't see the leak normally, goto the parts slinger & pressurize your system while car sits there... confirm the leak by seeing that the gauge is gradually losing psi... pump up again & start doing a visual @ all connections...

last effort: using a dye & UV light...

PS: my resevoir tank is cracked too, but above the full level mark... a hot glue gun & 2 sticks made a quick band-aid & since this plastic tank isn't pressurized, this item is in the backburner for a replacement.
