I could smash a radiator support with my fist. They are weak and there only to support the radiator and A/C components. Most of the time they are torn from the supporting members of the front end. When you go to a V mount you have to weld in your own support to mount the coolers anyways.350gtboi wrote:Also what happen's when you crash? did you consider that? race cars dont have to worry about bent radiator supports or cut bumper support s, but on a street car its a safety thing. you'll prolly gonna have to cuz or trim the radiaotr support to make a v-mount and thats compormising your safety. The only available bolt on V-mount set up is for a wrx made by Power Enterprises, if that helps, maybe you can get some ideas from that.
Agreed. Most V-Mount setups are built to say "Hay look wat we can do!" to show off to consumers or potential sponsors. The heat-soak from being in the engine bay and from the radiator below doesn't condone the most ideal air-air cooling scenario.Nismo_Freak wrote:There is little reason for a street car to run a V-mount setup, and the setup without proper ducting and under hood airflow is less efficient than the OEM mounting.
He asked a question based on insufficient personal knowledge. My posting was giving him a real world answer to his question.new_to_drift wrote:ok,he didnt ask if he should do it or not.he asked for pics and examples of it, so instead of giving your opinion when its not wanted, just try to help him out.im sorry if im seeming like a jerk,i just get annoyed when i see this happen so much.
