Hi:

I had to do an emergency raditor hose replacement and got a universal hose with the metal coil inside. The fix worked and the hose looks tough, but is this kind of hose the type that could be left installed?

If it's not good, are there, like, performance radiator hoses or should I get an OEM part?

Thanks in advance.

The universal hoses are fine. Just if you want the better fit and probably longer life, go with the OEM if you plan on switching motors sometime soon. If not, then go with the aftermarket hoses.

Are there any performance (as in more heat resistance or less deformation) hoses available?

I see Samco makes a set for the SX 180 with the CA18DET 1.8L engine and the picture shows hoses that look a lot like the 240's.

Could those fit?

Yeah, there are some aftermarket, or performance, radiator hoses out there for the KA, but it will probably cost you around $120 for a set. If you are willing to spend the money. I give you some sites where you can find them. Try these. But I think they're all for the SR./i-m-racing.com

You know, I haven't found any, just for the 180SX and these are $80/set at OPTIONS. Well priced, but double the cost of rubber.

I'll check a few places more, but I'll probably go with rubber.

Thanks.
