In another thread PPastos mentioned something about Radiator Hose Grease... which I hate to admit I had never heard of before. I checked online and saw a couple of mentions of it, and found it online at Autozone in little disposable packages. So... Does anyone know if Nissan has recommended a grease (if any) for water hoses and/or PCV hoses?

I am in the bowels of the valley having removed all of the hoses necessary to get the knock sensors out, and know that I will need a lot of lubrication to get those hoses back in that contraption that forms the "Y" between the left and right heads and the thermostat housing. I think I used Vaseline last time, but it has been a long time.

Thanks!

Heath

I have never used anything other than a spray bottle filled with distilled water and a few drops of dishwashing soap mixed in to lubricate the fitting.

I called up T3 and asked Byron if it was OK to use Radiator hose grease because I had it in the trunk because I am going to do a radiator flush, But anyways he said it was Ok because it will dry up after a while. Plus Goody94Q45 said I can use Vaseline for the Injector replacement so it should be safe for the IAC I presume.

I have seen that before I bet it sort of works but isn't required.Pretty much anything you have available. If it is a petroleum based lubricant will inhibit corrosion that occurs sometimes.

I have used many thing with no issue. A small amount of silicone or small coating of all purpose grease work on older hoses.

I have missed the Q injector threads I personally use a small shot of carb cleaner, and have never had a problem. I have tried many other things and that makes it fall right in if you do it right.
