A couple days ago I was driving and my radiator fan came undone from the battery on the positive terminal. When I got home and went to fix it, the radiator would not turn off. Even if the switch inside the car was off and the car was off. The switch can be on the off position or on position and it will not go off. I tried switching the wires around on the battery, but that did nothing. Any ideas?

You may have to draw us a schematic of your install. If the fan is running, then you have a completed circuit from battery through fan to ground. Something is either crossed up or "shorting" downstream of the fan. Are the blades to the switch bent and touching each other? Then the switch part of the switch would have no effect. Is there a thermostat on it? Some thermostats will allow fans to run even if the car is turned off. *Cough* AUDI *Cough* *Cough*

Help me help you.

your rad fan hi or lo relay may be broken. i had an electrical problem and it welded my rad fan hi relay together into the "on" position and it ran my battery out. i had to disconnect the battery to get the fans to shut off. check the relay.

So I was messing with it today, and the wire from the switch to the relay was lose along with a couple others. So I just re-connected them and wrapped them in tape and it works fine now. I'm assuming the wiring isn't that good from when the previous owner put a different fan in. Thanks for the help though!
