Correct, but i also wanted to mention that the fan is on a clutch/belt driven system, not 100% strictly belt. The ECU is constantly changing the speed of the fan via the clutch, depending on how warm the engine is. When your engine is warm, you can put on some garden gloves and actually stop the fan momentarily, this is how to diagnose whether a squeal is coming from the fan clutch or elsewhere.... Do not try this on a cold engine, because the fan clutch is engaged nearly 100% on cold starts, I don't know why.nissandoms47 wrote:Its belt driven, it will never stop turning.
