Ok. I just checked my Radiator coolant and it's sickly. I know not all coolants are the same and I don't care if you say they are because you're wrong. I would like to hear some input from you guys on what the best coolant is for a first gen Q45 that likes to run and play very hard.

The last coolant has only lasted about 6 months and that may be do to me not flushing it properly because I just got finished doing a transmission flush and didn't want to take a long time. This time however it will be done properly and with care.

Let me know what you use and what's good for a car with a bad habbit of going way over the speed limit.

Great threads and referenced links in earlier posts. Depends how you want to go, but Water Wetter and distilled water are always recommended.

Replacement of radiator hoses and even the radiator should be considered on a periodic basis. How do the fan blades look?

Just got a new cooler fan from Joe along with upper and lower hoses. The Fan had running cracks between every blade and the top hose had a bad spot where the emmissions canister was sitting on it. I'm flushing the radiator and changing the fan and hoses tomorrow late in the afternoon. The radiator itself is fine.

I will be running this car hard and want it to stay cool.

is a great thread and I'm just now hearing about Water Wetter. Just have to figure out the best mixture of everything. The BG coolant products are a little unclear, so if you have used any do you think they actually helped?

1992 Q45 coolant capacity is just a tad under 11 quarts if memory serves.

in summer in south, 65-70% distilled water one bottle RWW, rest antifreeze ( Nissan Green or Orange dexcool, if switching to orange be >sure< to completely drain and flush cooling system a couple times.)

If you measure the diameter of crank pulley and waterpump/fan pulley you will see that they run 135% [overspeed] so a 6500 rpm shift can let both exceed 8,775 rpm.............no wonder the plastic fan cracks after a few years.

Rather quaint how everything is measured in English (SAE) units. The guys who want to turbo/super charge the VH45DE have some serious thinking to do. I don't think ~11 Qt. is going to do it, let alone the airflow and oil cooling concerns.
