dennis or other knowledgable person,

does replacing the filler cap with a regular radiator cap do anything for the cooling system? what about replacing the stock radiator cap with a higher pressure one? or do these only help when you are doing serious racing in hot weather?

i wouldn't replace the radiator cap unless the stock is damaged. if an overheating situation would arrise a higher pressure cap could only compound the issue by not letting the overflow out as soon as it should. just the change in pressure could significantly change the coolant temperature to a suitable level. as far as daily driving i don't think it would make a difference.

are you having problems with your cooling system?

no problems, but the cap doesn't look so good.

I agree with mayhem.

also be sure your cooling system is well flushed and don't run your cooling mix too thick.

Fred...:)
